Course content
|
This course introduces the students to the sociology of family. Emphasis will be on main sociological theories of family, family structure, the functions of the family, gender roles, traditional, modern and postmodern family,family relations, inequality and relationship between family and other social structures.

Learning outcomes
|
This course aims to introduce students to the subject matter (family), and perspectives of sociology of family.
Student will understand historical, makro and mikrosocial contexts of family institution. Student will know basic cultural, psychological and bilogical factors of family life.

Prerequisites
|
Ability to work with scietific articles and course books. Critical thinking, willingness to debate.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Seminar Work
Class attendance and participation: 30%. Final Exam: 40 %. Seminar paper: 30%
