Course content
1. Leisure and leisure pedagogy. Functions of leisure. Historical development of leisure education. Key figures (e.g. Horst Opaschowski, Peter Zellmann, Reinhold Popp, Fritz Klatt, Allan Gintel, Joffre Dumazedier, etc.). 2. Education outside the classroom. Definition, features, functions, means, activities. Structure of leisure activities and their organisation. Formal, non-formal, informal education - characteristics, differences. 3. Pedagogy of experience. Play as a means of leisure pedagogy (familiarization, activation, simulation games), Kolb's cycle. Leisure and its role in the prevention of risky behaviour. 4. Social pedagogy, importance in educational practice. Interdisciplinarity of social pedagogy. Relationship to social work. Principles of social pedagogy. 5. Social pedagogue, professional training, areas of social pedagogue's activity. The social pedagogue as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a school. Cooperation between social pedagogue and teacher. 6. Education and environment in the concept of social pedagogy. The environment of educational valuation of leisure: family, peer groups, local environment, school, school facilities and institutions outside the school system, civic associations, media, society's policy on leisure of children, youth and adults. 7. Socially pathological phenomena in educational practice and social pedagogical interventions. 8. Pupil/client with special needs, inclusive approach in leisure and social pedagogy.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: define the basic concepts of leisure pedagogy specify the principles and functions of leisure explain the axiological dimension of leisure pedagogy and its relevance to quality of life specify the factors that influence the way leisure is experienced analyse current issues related to leisure for children and young people explain the influence of the environment on children and young people's leisure, explain the relationship between education and leisure and clarify the aims and specificities of educational activities in leisure time, to characterise the mission and activities of school leisure education establishments and associations for children and young people describe and explain the position and role of the social pedagogue in the school.
