Course content
Topics: definition of the term game, basic features of a game. Games and play activities as a means of developing the intellectual, emotional and volitional components of personality, play as a means of achieving cognitive, affective and psychomotor goals. Classification of games according to different criteria. Description of the game and the content of the methodological instructions for the game. Methods of conducting games and the principles of correct introduction of games in educational work with people with SEN (selection, planning and preparation of the game, motivation of participants, explanation of the rules, coordination of the game, reflection and evaluation of the game).

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: - explain the concept of play, - explain the importance of play in the educational process and describe the basic practical aspects of introducing games, - use play effectively in the educational process, - choose appropriate games in relation to the educational and educational objectives, - plan, prepare, conduct and evaluate games and game activities at different levels of difficulty of rules and organization, - use play appropriately and effectively in educational work with people with SEN, - adapt games to the specific needs of these people, - develop the game into a clear methodological guide.
The student will gain the ability to independently prepare, plan and lead games in the educational process.

Assessment methods and criteria

A portfolio of 5 games that meet the following criteria: 1. the games will be designed for different age and target groups 2. Each game will have pedagogical objectives for the selected target group in the cognitive, affective and sensorimotor domains 3. Each game will be presented in a presentation which will include: (a) A detailed classification of the game according to content and focus, form and method of play, purpose, rules and structure, number of players, physical or digital form and duration. (b) An analysis of the game according to cognitive development, language development, social skills development, emotional development, creativity, motor development, development of independence and responsibility, and form of learning. (c) An analysis of the rules of the game, if any, and how they relate to the results of the analyses in (a) and (b), as well as in relation to the ability of the target and age group to understand and apply the rules d) The local and temporal context of the game in which it may take place (when and where) e) Organisational guidelines for the pedagogical management of the game f) Risks in the implementation of the game 4. The presentation should also include graphic elements (photographs, game plans, tools, etc.) documenting the possible form of the game in practice 5. Furthermore, the presentation contains any methodological notes for the pedagogical management of the game, including specific circumstances, potential complications or secondary benefits and, where appropriate, notes on the special conditions of the game implementation for members of the target group with specific educational needs 6. The presentation must be as detailed as possible, including critical reflection The presentation of the portfolio or part of it and discussion of the suitability of the game within the seminar group is a condition for the completion of the course.
