Course content
Methods of human cognition. Basic terminology pedagogical methodology. Researches qualitatively and quantitatively oriented. Phase quantitative research. Formulation of the problem of empirical research. Hypotheses and rules for their formulation. Selecting elements in research samples. Researches ex-post-facto and experiments. Measurement in pedagogical research, its types and properties. Characteristics of position (mean values). Rate variability. Methods graphical display of data. Normal distribution and its properties. Selected statistical methods used in the testing of hypotheses. Phases of qualitative research. Selected designs of qualitative research. The most frequent methods of data collection in qualitatively and quantitatively oriented research. Evaluation and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative research data. Ethics research.

Learning outcomes

Students are able to characterize scientific research and its specifics in the social sciences and education. It will know the basic methods and techniques of data collection, sample design and basic characteristics of descriptive statistics. Students will be able to describe methods for testing of research hypotheses, statistical tests of significance and describe the date on which it can use. He can describe the normal distribution of data and its properties. Will be able to verify the hypotheses. Can use correlation analysis in educational research. Able to apply appropriate graphical representation of data. He is able to write a final research report.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of methodology, mathematics and statistics.
