Course content
|
The essence and meaning of the bachelor thesis. Bachelor thesis supervisor. Bachelor's thesis processing schedule. The aim of the bachelor thesis. Finding specialist literature and sources and working with them. Creation of professional text. Referencing sources according to the valid citation standard. Application of findings from empirical research methodology when writing a bachelor's thesis. Ethical principles of scientific work. Structure and division of the bachelor thesis. Formal editing of the bachelor's thesis in accordance with the standard for editing documents in word processors and with valid internal regulations of the Palacký University and the UP Faculty of Education. Assessment of the bachelor's thesis. Preparation for defense. Contact teaching is focused on the key problems of the discipline and on the navigation of students to the preparation of the bachelor thesis.

Learning outcomes
|
As part of the seminar, the student should evaluate the previous knowledge from methodology and research in the social and pedagogical sciences and use it when writing the research/methodical part of the bachelor thesis and, in cooperation with the supervisor, aim for its successful completion. Upon graduation, the student should (be able to): <LI> to establish an adequate research strategy and research tool based on the established bachelor thesis objectives and follow-up research questions; <LI> prepare and implement pre-research for bachelor thesis to verify the consistency of the research tool, or create a validated methodology; <LI> implement methodologically correctly conceived and conducted research of bachelor thesis; <LI> choose an adequate method of analysis and transparently analyze the obtained data; <LI> conduct expert discussion on bachelor thesis results, evaluate answers to research questions; <LI> formulate conclusions, or recommendations based on findings; <LI> reflect the ethical principles of scientific work in the application to the creation of a qualification thesis.

Prerequisites
|
A prerequisite for enrolling in the course is the submission of a bachelor's thesis and its supervisor in the STAG system.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Final Report
In order to complete the subject and be awarded credit, the following is a condition: <LI> Min. 2-4 consultations with the supervisor. <LI> Search of professional sources on the topic of the work. <LI> Work-in-progress part of the bachelor's thesis in the scope of at least 15 pages and in formal requirements according to the standard on Qualification theses at PdF UP in Olomouc. <LI> The bachelor thesis in progress contains: - Formulation of the objectives of the bachelor's thesis. - Elaborated theoretical basis of the work - key information on the topic based on the literature study. - Plan for the methodological and conceptual processing of the work (taking into account the chosen type of bachelor's thesis - methodical, research-oriented). In order to grant credit for the course, confirmation from the supervisor (by e-mail) is required that the student regularly consults the course of writing the BP, that the work meets the above requirements and is on track for successful completion and submission.
