Course content
Course syllabus and topics for the 2nd part of the comprehensive exam: <LI> 1. Research in educational sciences, basic specifics of quantitative and qualitative research. <LI> 2. Definition, prerequisites of educational research, preparation of a field research concept focusing on the specifics of spending free time by selected target groups with an emphasis on the type of research (quantitative, qualitative). <LI> 3. Basic data collection methods. Observation, questioning, interview, group interview, focus group, casuistry, case study, document analysis, etc. <LI> 4. Basic methods of analyzing the obtained data. Quantitative statistical analysis. Qualitative methods of analysis: grounded theory (open, axial, selective coding), interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), framework analysis, discourse analysis, etc. <LI> 5. Entry into the field, implementation of a pilot study and one's own empirical investigation. <LI> 6. Ethics of research work in educational research.

Learning outcomes
Within the course, students will be guided towards the ability to conduct field research in their leisure among a specific social group and to develop the ability to conceive, prepare and implement basic pedagogical research.
After completing the course, students should be able to: <LI> determine a research problem in relation to a clearly defined target group and the specifics of their leisure spending; <LI> choose an adequate research strategy (quantitative, qualitative) and methods (exploratory and analytical); <LI> choose and address an appropriate research group (corresponding to the nature of the research); <LI> enter the field and carry out a research investigation; <LI> evaluate the obtained data and incorporate it into the final research report; <LI> demonstrate theoretical orientation in leisure pedagogy and the specifics of leisure research.
Prerequisites
<LI> The prerequisite for enrolling in the course is the completion of the course Education and Research in Leisure 1, which sheds light on leisure time as a space for the personal development of the individual and successful socialization and defines leisure pedagogy as a scientific field dealing with theoretical and methodological aspects of education outside of school. <LI> The prerequisite for completing the course is the fulfillment of all conditions from both courses Education and Research in Leisure 1 and 2 with the passing of a comprehensive exam within the scope of the syllabi of both courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Seminar Work, Final Report

To complete the subject, the student must fulfill: <LI> A) Semester work - Field research focused on the leisure of a specific social group <LI> B) Attendance at classes. 1 absence allowed. <LI> C) Passing an oral exam from both subjects (1,2) Note: For students with ISP, a relaxation in physical attendance in classes is accepted, the obligation is to attend at least 30% of direct classes. The remaining conditions for completing the course remain unchanged. In the semester work, the student carries out field research that maps the specifics of spending leisure of a specific social group, which is selected in the seminar.
