Course content
|
The essence and meaning of the thesis. Thesis supervisor. Timetable for processing the diploma thesis. The aim of the thesis. Searching for professional literature and sources and correct work with them. Creation of professional text. Referencing sources according to the valid citation standard. Application of findings from empirical research methodology when writing a diploma thesis. Ethical principles of scientific work. Structure and division of the thesis. Formal editing of the diploma thesis in accordance with the standard for editing documents in word processors and with valid internal regulations of Palacký University and the Faculty of Education of UP. Diploma thesis assessment. Preparation for defense. Contact teaching is focused on the key problems of the discipline and on the navigation of students to the preparation of a diploma thesis. Students acquire the theoretical curriculum through self-study and processing assigned partial tasks, exercises and problem questions.

Learning outcomes
|
As part of the seminar, the student should evaluate the previous knowledge from methodology and research in the social and pedagogical sciences and use it when writing the research part of the diploma thesis and, in cooperation with the supervisor, aim for its successful completion. Upon graduation, the student should (be able to): <LI> to establish an adequate research strategy and research tool based on the established bachelor thesis objectives and follow-up research questions; <LI> prepare and implement pre-research for bachelor thesis to verify the consistency of the research tool; <LI> implement methodologically correctly conceived and conducted research of diploma thesis; <LI> choose an adequate method of analysis and transparently analyze the obtained data; <LI> conduct expert discussion on diploma thesis results, evaluate answers to research questions; <LI> formulate conclusions, or recommendations based on findings; <LI> reflect the ethical principles of scientific work in the application to the creation of a qualification thesis.

Prerequisites
|
The subject is a continuation of the previous subjects Prepaedeutic seminar for diploma thesis and Seminar for diploma thesis 1 and directs the student to the completion of a diploma thesis as one of the key prerequisites for successful completion of the bachelor's studies within the field of Social Pedagogy at Faculty of Education, Palacky University Olomouc. The prerequisite is the assignment of the diploma thesis topic in STAG, continuous consultation with the supervisor and the direction towards its successful completion.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Final Report
To complete the subject and be awarded credit, the following is a condition: a) As part of research-oriented work focused on the processing of primary data, the condition for granting a discharge is min. preparation of field research of educational reality leading to the submission of a complete part of the diploma thesis. Specific requirements: <LI> Min. 2-4 consultations with the supervisor. <LI> Searching for professional resources on the topic of the diploma thesis <LI> Work-in-progress part of the diploma thesis in the scope of at least 30 pages and in formal requirements according to the standard on Qualification theses at PdF UP in Olomouc. <LI> Work in progress includes: - Formulation of thesis objectives. - Elaborated theoretical basis of the thesis - key information on the topic based on literature study. - Plan of methodological and conceptual processing of the work (taking into account the chosen type of research-oriented work). b) In the application work, the condition for granting a discharge is min. preparation of the implementation of research aimed at verifying the application of educational aids and texts, extracurricular educational activities, extracurricular educational programs, innovative approaches to education in free time, sets of worksheets that will be verified in practice with a sufficiently large target group. Specific requirements: <LI> Min. 2-4 consultations with the supervisor. <LI> Searching for professional resources on the topic of the diploma thesis <LI> Work-in-progress part of the diploma thesis in the scope of at least 30 pages and in formal requirements according to the standard on Qualification theses at PdF UP in Olomouc. <LI> Work in progress includes: - Formulation of thesis objectives. - Elaborated theoretical basis of the thesis - key information on the topic based on literature study. - Plan of methodical and conceptual processing of the work (taking into account the selected type of thesis application). In order to grant credit for the course, confirmation from the supervisor (by e-mail) is required that the student regularly consults the course of writing the DT, that the work meets the above requirements and is on track for successful completion and submission.
