Course content
Introduction to problems of communication skills as a complex discipline and its application in teaching. Framework introduction to the basic concepts of: speech, language, communication (verbal, non-verbal / non-verbal, formal, informal), interaction, social communication, social perception, communication process, educational communication, voice professionalism, interaction style, self-reflection, monologue, dialogue, assertiveness pathological modes of communication, conflict.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Homework for Teaching - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 36 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 14 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Students will learn the basic rules of communication by way of solutions to concrete situations. At the same time, they will also be encouraged to correct nonverbal behaviour and effective communication by actions. The seminar will place stress on active listening, assertiveness, and will help to develop a certain level of empathy when communicating. Students will be ready to identify nonstandard communicative situations (for example manipulation, non-justified criticism, and conflict) and learn how to control them in their professional lives.
Developing communicative competence related to teaching. Acquiring skills to adequately communicate in unusual situations when conflict or in connection with socially negative phenomena.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites to study in college, willingness to learn, ability to develop their communicative skills.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic Test, Seminar Work

Active participation in teaching. Preparation of seminar paper of 8-10 pages and its presentation. Independent study of literature. Compliance with the requirements of the final test.
