Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge and skills in the field of kindergarten self-evaluation After completing the course, students should be able to: - use the correct terminology with understanding, - acquire knowledge and skills of current approaches in the field of quality management in the context of change management, - acquire the skill of the self-evaluation procedure using a wide range of self-evaluation methods.
After completing the course, the student will be able to: understand basic terminology in the field of self-evaluation demonstrate knowledge in the field of self-evaluation in kindergarten work, self-evaluation as a change management process, self-evaluation procedure, creation of a self-evaluation plan be able to apply theoretical knowledge to the conditions of a specific school

Assessment methods and criteria

The course is concluded with a credit. The condition for granting credit is to participate in seminars to the extent of 75%, in the case of serious reasons, attendance will be accepted at least 50% (excuse required - documented by a medical certificate), in the event that the student has a seminar participation of less than 75%, he will be assigned a seminar paper in which he will demonstrate understanding of the curriculum that was practiced during his absence. The student will complete the tasks assigned in the MOODLE system. Students are able to: - explain how the quality of preschool education is systematically maintained within the regional education system, - define the terms assessment, evaluation, self-evaluation, school self-evaluation, evaluation of educational outcomes, accountability, - describe the PDCA cycle, - explain the importance of the coexistence of internal and external evaluation for the development of the school as a relatively autonomous organization, - find the most recent inspection report of the selected kindergarten and the results of thematic inspections related to preschool education, - discuss the expected quality of preschool education expressed by the currently valid evaluation criteria of the ČSI, - clarify the concept of a "learning school" in relation to the desired development of the school, - list and explain the individual phases of the evaluation process and their interconnection, - from the perspective of the conditions in kindergartens, actively discuss the questions usually asked before starting an evaluation/self-evaluation - explain the terms area of self-evaluation, criterion, indicator and point out the relationships between them, supplement with examples from the practice of preschool education, - based on theoretical knowledge, formulate your opinion on the need to process or not process a self-evaluation report, - set indicators for the given criteria, - explain the advantages and possible risks of selected evaluation methods and techniques in the kindergarten environment, - actively discuss the issue of change management in the workplace and apply it to the kindergarten environment, - define a partial, precisely defined and clearly demarcated problem in the selected area of work of a specific kindergarten or other organization providing preschool education and prepare a self-evaluation plan, - present your plan for "self-evaluation of kindergarten" in front of the study group, defend its quality and actively participate in the discussion on the concept of other presented plans.
