Course content
Syllabus Political Islam in the Middle East The course examines the ideologies and political agendas of contemporary Islamist movements, as well as their origins and evolution in the Middle East. The major purpose of the course is to explain political Islam as a phenomenon and to explore its political and social contexts in which Islamists emerged and evolved. The course will discuss a variety of related topics like Islam, Islamism, radical Islam, the Muslim Brotherhood. The main purpose of the course is to provide students with a deep and detailed understanding of political Islam with its different and important aspects as well as its impact unto the Middle Eastern politics.
