Course content
The content of the course is divided into two sections. The first section will define the basic concepts used during the research process (types of variables, techniques of data collection and analysis, hypotheses etc.). Students will also be introduced into the important isssue of causal analysis. The second section of the course focuses on the major types of qualitative research methods which include the issue of the case study design and comparative methods. The use of the comparative methods will be demonstrated based on the logic of the methods developed by John Stuart Mill.

Learning outcomes
The main goals of the course is to introduce students to the main principles of research in political science. The course is thus aimed to foster the analytical skills of students that could be utilized both in the context of their comprehension of existing research in political science and in being able to formulate thieir own research design.

Written exam
