Course content
The course is divided into three sections. In the first section, the students will be introduced to descriptive statistics (measrues of central tendency, measures of variability). Basic techniques of exploratory data analysis will also be discussed. The second section will focus on basic aspects of the theory of probability and inferential statistics used for hypothesis testing (standard normal distribution, confidence intervals, z-tests, chi-square tests). The last section will introduce students to selected measures of association (PRE-Lambda, Spearman coefficient, Pearson coefficient).

Learning outcomes
The main goal of the course is to introduce students to the major principles of the work with quantitative data, statistical inference and major steps in the political science research process.

Prerequisites
1. Basic knowledge of the main concepts related to the research process in political science. 2. Basic knowledge of the logic of scientific research.

Written exam
