Students will get familiar with phases of a creative process and with commonly used literary techniques (dramatic dialogue, prose, lyric genres, essays and journalism genres). Above all, the course is aimed at helping students refine their creative writing skills through groupwork, discussion and instructor's feedback. This is backed by theoretical knowledge in literary theory, stylistics, cognitive linguistics and psychology (see intertextuality, visual aspects of language, genres, thematization, the author - text - reader relation, structure and style of text, direct - indirect speech etc.).
