Learning outcomes
The course is part of a broader project which aims to create an electronic encyclopaedia of linguistics and to use and take advantage of results of other courses (in form of encyclopaedic entries) of the Department of General Linguistics. These will not constitute an isolated result of a single course, but will assume purposeful, scholarly valuable and more lasting form. The aim of the course is to put together a student team of editors who will edit the entries. The course will provide students with knowledge of the structure and required properties of scientific text (in continuation of the obligatory first year course Basics of Linguistic Work), introducing them to specifics of creation of encyclopaedic entries, while they will at the same time try their hands at editing work and preparation of scholarly text for publication. They will work with real data ? authored manuscripts.
