Course content |
Pictures as a stimulus for creative language learning. Features images in language teaching, process models and examples. Perception of visual material, types of images. Picture books for the youngest in a foreign language. Picture stories in foreign language teaching. Advertising. The function of moving pictures. Pictures from an intercultural perspective. Pictures as an incentive to active communication. Learning and artistic image material. The content of this seminar will consist of practical activities with visual material which can be applied to teaching German as a foreign language.

Learning outcomes |
After completing the course, students should be able to: - define the main categories of visual material used in foreign language learning - describe and explain the main differences between categories - explain the main features of pictorial material - names the selection criteria of pictorial material suitable to foreign language teaching - Describe the effects of video material on the perception of 2nd grade elementary school - design and create their own activity / teaching tool in teaching German language at primary school
Students receive a basic overview of the theoretical bases using visual materials in foreign language teaching. The student is qualified to work independently , methodically created to describe and apply the material ( activity) in the teaching of German language at the elementary school. |

Active knowledge of German language, communication skills and creative thinking.

Assessment methods and criteria |
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio
Active participation in education. Continuous performance of assigned tasks and participation in teaching. Students work methodology and worksheets, respectively. creates another educational material using visual material applicable in German language teaching in primary school. Material must develop / strengthen one of the basic language skills. |
