|
Authentic texts. Methods of foreign language teaching in relation to working with text. Reading authentic texts. Authentic texts and reading comprehension. Use of strategies in working with authentic texts. Newspapers and magazines as sources of authentic texts. Authentic and inauthentic texts. Texts in contemporary German language textbooks. Preparation of own teaching materials.

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: - understand the content and meaning of authentic texts - categorize types of texts ? explain the principles of working with authentic texts - be aware of the importance and advantages of using authentic texts in German language teaching - design different types of language exercises for the corresponding text types - create didactic tasks for the relevant text types

Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio
Active participation in class. 80% presence in class. Continuous completion of sub-tasks as assigned by the teacher. Requirement for students with ISP: 20% participation, elaboration of a text analysis from a textbook of the German language for elementary schools (further specification at the beginning of the semester with the teacher of the course). |
