Course content
Basic factographic data on Austria. Geography (individual Länder, Vienna). Industry and agriculture. Holidays, traditions. Selected chapters from Austria's history. Austria's political system. education The population of Austria. Prominent figures in the country.

Learning outcomes
After graduating from the subject, students should be able: To name basic factographic data relating to the life of Austrian society, to list and characterise the specifics of individual Länder, to explain the importance of events relating to the history of the territory of today's Austria, to demonstrate the acquired knowledge of education, industry, agriculture, to characterise Austria's political system, to explain the importance of holidays and traditions of Austria compared to the Czech Republic, to name the linguistic peculiarities of Austrian Czech Czech language, to effectively, to know the multimedia.
Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the geography , history , education, and contemporary life of Austrian society.
Prerequisites
Mastering about German speaking countries at the level of grammar. Active knowledge of the German language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Seminar Work

Active student access to teaching. The performance of tasks awarded on an ongoing basis. Presentation, seminal work. For students with ISP: Completion of assignments as for students without ISP + additionally preparation of a seminar paper.
