Po absolvování předmětu by studenti měli být schopni: - mít povědomí o německy píšících autorech z oblasti Moravského a Horního Slezska (Ota Filip, Horst Bienek) - obsáhnout společenský a politický vývoj těchto specifických - původně multikulturních a vícejazyčných regionů - interpretovat texty těchto autorů s ohledem na problematiku české, polské a německé komunity ve 30., 40., a 50. letech 20. století - chápat vliv událostí tzv. velkých dějin (meziválečné období, 2. sv. válka a poválečná situace - odsun německého obyvatelstva) na osudy jednotlivců a jejich rodin
