Course content
Facts and current events from the daily life of the German-speaking world. Events from politics, economy, sports, education, health. National cuisine, customs and traditions. Current events presented in the press, in the media, on social networks concerning the life of the inhabitants of the German-speaking countries. German and Austrian media. Mobility.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: - develop communicative competence in the context of discussions concerning current topics and events in German-speaking areas - understand German-language news (newspapers, magazines, publications, internet sources) - develop language skills: listening and reading comprehension, speaking and writing - interpret and comment on current events in German-speaking countries - navigate German Internet resources

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Active participation in teaching, presentation of the chosen topic in the seminar. For students with ISP: Completion of assignments as for students without ISP + additionally preparation of a seminar paper.
