Course content
The seminar focuses on terrain of the historiographical work in the musicology (the heuristics, the criticism of the sources, the critical reading of the available literature, the text structure etc.) Before the beginning of the semester is published the topic of the seminar. In the seminar, students work on research projects related to the announced topic. The meetings of the student performs the entire scholarly process, which is completed by the developing of the specialized studies.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to broad the student's methodological skills and to apply the theoretical knowledge on specific terrain of the musicological work.
After the passing this course, students will be able to: - independently select and solve problems, - gather important information on the studied issues, analyze and specify it, - collect the empirical data, systematize and process them in a methodologically correct way, - analyze the empirical material with the help of the theoretical background, - read and evaluate existing literature, choose appropriate theories, - compose written reports based on assigned points, - defense their projects.
Prerequisites
The course is offered only to the students of the study fields Humanities. Academic writing skills, a good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and basic knowledge of thesis lay-out style are assumed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Seminar Work

To share the collective research, the processing of own research, to study of the foreign literature, the presentation of the paper (time 20 min.), the submitting of the thesis of at least 18,000 characters.
