Course content
1. Introduction to music notation softwares - types, application, possibilities, history (Finale, Sibelius aj.). 2. Creating a new file in Finale 2009 and entering notes using Simple Tools 3. Staff, Key Signature, Time Signature, Clef a Measure Tools. 4. Playback , Advanced Tools 5. Export and import of various formats and subsequent work with them. 6. Speedy entry, Smart Shape, Articulation, Expression, Text Tools. 7. Repeat, Chord, Lyrics Tools. 8. Plugins, final work with files - formatting and other editing options. 9. Possibilities of music notation softwares in notation of modern and old music, including the comparison of their specific features, work with graphics etc.

Demonstration, Projection (static, dynamic), Grafic and Art Activities
  • Attendace - 26 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 20 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
Obtaining basic information about current computer notation programs (Sibelius, Finale, etc.) and capacity to produce a musical score in Finale 2009 notation system.
Ability to work independently in the notation program Finale 2009 - copying of music examples, the development of simpler scores, etc.

Mastering the basic computer skills

Written exam, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works)
