Learning outcomes |
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the history of modern popular music (or jazz-influenced popular music) especially of the first half of the 20th century.
The student will be competent to reflect the history of music in its entirety, he/she will be able to discuss the changes in the aesthetics of music in the twentieth century, hence to discuss the transformations of the society of the historical phase in question. |

A general overview of the history of music, as well as basic knowledge of the cultural history of the twentieth century is expected.

Assessment methods and criteria |
Student performance
regular attendance continuous study of recommended literature and listening to recommended music examples The student prepares a paper on the given topic and within the given scope (30 min., text and pp presentation); the student submits the paper to Moodle by the given deadline. In case of failure to submit and present the paper within the specified deadlines, the student will not be awarded the attestation. |
