Music Performance, Its Components and Aspects. - the division of a composition, parts and particles of a composition, sections - the delineation and connections of parts of a composition 3. Structure of Compositions, Tectonic Functions of Music, Blocs of Music. - building functions of parts of a composition - functional types of music 4. Music Thoughts. Motive, Theme. - the definition of a motive, theme - the typology of motives, themes - the limitation of a motive, theme - the work with a motive, with a theme 5. Periodic and Non-periodic Movement. - the definition of a movement and period in music - the movement structure - types of finales - a movement in vocal and instrumental music - irregularities in a movement 6. Small and Large Two Part and Three Part Form - small and large two part form without a repeat - small and large three part forms with a repeat - widened and narrowed small and large forms - the use of small and large forms - bar form 7. Learning outcomes
|
Students will acquire the knowledge of musical forms of the European music and methods of formal analysis. Tectonic issues of musical composition are also discussed.
Acquired knowledge: The student: - knows basic form types of European music, methods of musical-form analysis and regularities of musical architecture; - has a command of necessary theoretical terminology. The student is: - able to carry out a form analysis of classical-romantic music and some polyphonic forms; - able to describe the tectonic process of a work; - able to find and name motivic relations in the structure of a work. Acquired qualifications: The student is able to use acquired knowledge and skills in a complex analysis of a musical work that is dealt with in the courses Analysis of Music Compositions 1 - 3.
