Learning outcomes
Religious studies introduces students into research of religious beliefs, behaviour, and institutions. The course draws attention to the multiple disciplines and methodologies in history of religion from its beginning to the first decades of 21st century. It leads students to understand dynamic changes in contemporary religious milieu with respect to understanding sectarian tensions and religious violence. Aims are to introduce students into four main areas of religious studies: - understand the methods of the religious research - know the overview of the history of religious studies - know the main world religions - recognise new religious movements Competitions: Students are able on basic level to describe and interpret religious traditions emphasizing historical and cross-cultural perspective.
