Seminar Work, Final project
A seminar paper of 12-15 standard pages on a topic related to Christianity, to be agreed upon by the student and the instructor. The theoretical seminar paper corresponds to the media project and also includes an evaluation of the ethical dimensions of the chosen topic. At the end of the semester, the student presents both outputs (theoretical and media-based) to the group and leads a discussion on the topic with classmates. 1. Media OutputPhotography Exercise. In this exercise, we will explore the specific characteristics of photography as a medium, both in terms of form and content. We will explore various approaches to the topic and attempt to create a visual story. Output: Profilea portrait of a person. (series of 10-15 photographs) Content: For the profile, we will select a person for whom a spiritual dimension is important in their life. We will focus on characterizing the selected individual, emphasizing how they experience and convey their religious experience. Thorough research is essential for the theoretical component prepared for the block course, which is a prerequisite for the photography work. Work style: Individual work under the instructor's guidance. 2. Media Output - Radio: A recorded interview with a selected figure according to the assignment by M. Vetešková. The resulting podcast will be 7 to 10 minutes long. Raw footage of at least 30 minutes; pre-selection for the instructor: max. 15 minutes of audio. . Media Coverage - Text: The whole world is full of stories, and both the media and readers love "stories." Writing a good story means finding a good topic and an interesting intervieweewho doesn't have to be a celebrity. Quite the opposite. Stories of the "ordinary" people around us who have had extraordinary positive or negative experiences are what give newspapers a "human touch." In this exercise, we will therefore focus specifically on stories or mini-profiles of various interviewees who fit the assignment for the theoretical paper. Students will consult with the instructors (Eva Hrudníková, Ivana Pustějovská) regarding their choice of interviewee. The final text will be 3,200 characters long (including spaces, with a tolerance of 200 characters). It will also include a bio box (300 characters long). Students will be provided with examples of text formats during the seminar and will be able to consult their ideas with instructors during class. 3. Media Output - Multimedia: A prerequisite for enrollment is completion of the multimedia studio, or both studiosaudiovisual and web.
