Course content
In the Audiovisual course, students will learn the basics of creating audiovisual content, from the initial concept through filming and post-production. By creating a short report, they will gain hands-on experience with the content and form of audiovisual works and learn to use basic audiovisual terminology. Preparation of an Audiovisual Work: Image and sound as means of communication, formats, and possible uses. Content of an Audiovisual Work: Story development, dramatic arc. Post-production: Editing and sound post-production. Students will gain experience working both "in front of the camera" and "behind the camera." They will learn to analyze a simple audiovisual work and understand its creation process.

Course Objectives for the Audiovisual Course: Learn to recognize and identify audiovisual forms. Learn the basics of formal and content analysis of a simple audiovisual format. Understand and experiment with the process of creating a short television format. Learn to design audiovisual content based on content and form. In the Audiovisual course, students will learn the basics of creating audiovisual content, from the initial concept through filming and post-production. The course requires only a basic understanding of audiovisual production.

During the semester, students will shoot a short television report. They will go through the entire process themselves: from the initial concept to post-production editing. They can film using their own cell phone or camera. They can also borrow a camera from the school. They can edit the footage on their own device or in the school's editing suite. Recommended software: DaVinci Resolve.
