Course content
The course introduces students to the possibility of photography and the ethics of processing image material accompanying crisis situations. The course will deal with the analysis of the content and form of photographs, the possible production and post-production distortion of reality and the ethical framework of this issue. Students acquire the skill to decode the used symbols of the current visual culture. Content: 1. Basics of photography, a look at history 2. Use of photography in crisis and breakthrough situations 3. Basic possibilities of techniques during photography 4. Basic post-production options 5. Analysis - portraying characters in a crisis situation 6. Analysis - speed in reportage photography 7. Analysis - post-production editing - options 8. Assignment of the final seminar paper - discussion 9. Presentation of ZSP concepts 10. Presentation of ZSP concepts 11. Presentation of the seminar work 12. Presentation of seminar work - discussion

Learning outcomes
The student will become familiar with the basic formal and content values of photography. The student will learn the basics of the art of distinguishing post-production editing and what technical possibilities these edits have. The student will practice ethical evaluation and the possibilities of publishing an image in a crisis situation.
