The teaching is based on relevant literature and the personal experience of the lecturer, who has been professionally involved in the region since 1993, has worked as a journalist in the region for a long time and has written several publications about it. Learning outcomes
|
The course is designed to prepare learners to recognize and understand the practical pitfalls of media coverage and crisis communication in the context of religion and culture in the case of the Middle East, geographic areas and topics where cultural and religious differences may play a significant role. Using case studies of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Iranian issues and other regional specificities, cultural and political differences that affect the work of reporters, field researchers, and aid workers will be explained.

The student organizes his/her studies on the basis of distance support, i.e. study materials and instructions in the LMS; he/she participates in webinars and completes continuous and long-term tasks. Requirements for students: active participation in the class, final essay according to the specific assignment of the supervisor and the instructor.
