Course content
Students are introduced to basics of relational database systems and the SQL query language and also to the WWW internet service and basics of creating web pages. Students try to create their own database in MS Access environment and a simple web page in practices. 1. Basic concepts (database, DBMS, database system). Architecture of DS in relation to distribution of services. Location of data in DS. Distributed database. DBMS model. Relation model - basic concepts. 2. Data model. Relational algebra. Normalization in database model. 3. Database program languages. SQL language. 4. Working with MS Access. MS Visual Basic and database.
