Course content
1. Entrepreneurship: definition of an enterprise, types of enterprises, legal forms of enterprises, for-profit and non-profit organizations 2. Basic economic concepts: Factors of production 3. Activities within an enterprise: overview of activities, characteristics of supply management 4. Supply management - concluding a purchase contract, transportation, storage 5. Investments: understanding the importance of enterprise's investments, investment efficiency, long-term assets and its management 6. Human resource management 7. Production management 8. Sales management 9. Marketing - concepts, SWOT analysis 10. Management - basic terms and managerial activities 11. KPI (Key Performance Indicators) 12. Sustainability in entrepreneurship - CSR, social entrepreneurship, circular economy

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the content and principles of business economics and management. Basic economic concepts and business activities aimed at fulfilling enterprise's goals will be introduced. Special attention will be paid to the sustainable behavior of large corporations and SME.
After completing the course, the student understands: - basic terms of business economics (costs, revenues, cash flow etc.) - principles of managerial activities (HRM, investment decision making, supply management etc.) - principles of marketing (marketing mix elements etc.) Furthermore, the student is familiar with: - legal forms of business in the Czech Republic and their specifics - approaches to sustainable business
