Course content
1. Simplifying algebraic expressions. 2. Quadratic equation, calculations with polynomials. 3. Powers and roots, fractional and negative exponents. 4. Functions. Rational functions. 5. Linear equations, equations with the unknown in denominator. 6. Equations with the unknown under the n-th root. 7. Equations with absolute values. 8. Linear and quadratic inequalities. 9. Exponential functions - graph and important points. 10. Logarithmic functions - graph, important points, the principle of a logarithm. 11. Goniometric functions - graph, important points, unit circle, basic goniometric formulas.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
  • Attendace - 26 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 25 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
To practise their mathematical knowledge from high school.
Ability to work with algebraic expressions and solve equations and inequations.

No prerequisities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

The student has to pass written test (i.e. to obtain at least 80% of all possible points).
