Commissiononal exam from a foreign language according to student's choice with respect to theme of a Ph.D. project: English, German, French, eventually Italian (student's mother tongue is excluded) or otherwise proved knowledge of a language on B2-level (e.g. a certificate of internationally recognized exam, otherwise proved knowledge of a language if accepted by the Subject Area Board). The focus is on the following language skills: a) grammar of a language in basic extent, b) knowledge of terminology, c) reading of 50 pages of a scientific text and ability to discuss it, ability to summarize the text in cca 5 pages, d) presentation of a Ph.D. project in a foreign language and discussion about the topic.
