Course content
Social pedagogy deals with the anchorage and concept of Czech and foreign social pedagogy. Further it points out the development of social pedagogy as a discipline from its roots until the state of today (including the legislative position of graduates of social pedagogy in practice). It also presents a typology of environment and its relation to education. This subject is concerned with the natural environments and its effect on upbringing of an individual as well as it presents cocepts and surveys of values and the role of masmedia in today's society.

Learning outcomes
Based on literature and tasks during seminars students will gain the knowledge of social pedagogy as a scientific discipline as well as the relation between education and different types of environment, which will be essential for their further studies. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students will gain knowledge of social pedagogy as a science field and relation between education and environment, which is necessary for their further study and practice.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Didactic Test

- Active participation in the seminars (student can be absent twice at the most, in case of being absent more times, he/she cannot take the credit test), - Students get ready for seminars by reading the required reading list which will be presented during the first lesson. The students need to do a presentation of the topic from the reading list. In case they do not present their part, they will not be let to the credit test.They have to have the required articles (or their copies) in the lessons so that they can find the information required if necessary. If the students are not ready, they can be expelled from the seminary exercises. If the student is expelled twice for this reason, he or she will not be allowed to take a credit test. - passing the credit test (at least 70%) and passing the oral examination (dialogue on a chosen topic, the topics will be given during the first lesson of seminar, the students will study for the exam from the study list), students cannot take the exam unless they have all the requirements necessary for credit.
