Course content
- social work as scientific discipline; - social work as practical activity; - basic forms of social work, approaches in social work; - ethic of social work; - social worker, social service user; - specific problems of social work; - legislation; - types of social services.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)
Learning outcomes
Students will gain knowledge necessary to understand the nature of social work in the social system. They become familiar with the conceptual apparatus, with ethic of social work, with types of clients and person of social worker included key competencies, which are used in social work, with valid legislation and typology of social services.
- orientation in the basics of social work, knowledges of main approaches and methods of social work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Seminar Work

- participation in discussion in seminar; - presentation of individual work; - written test Students with individual study plan must pass a written test + 50% participation in seminars.
