Course content
Topics: Ethics as a philosophical discipline. An overview of ethical theories. Basic ethical categories. Systemization of ethics as a practical philosophy. The place of professional ethics in the system of interpersonal relations.   Codes of ethics as regulators of behaviour of professional groups. Analysis of ethical codes of selected professions.

Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization), Group work

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: - define the concept of ethics, - clarify the basic ethical categories and principles, - explain the importance of ethics in social interactions, - apply the principles of general ethics to the field of professional ethics, - distinguish moral rules from conventions and rules relating to the personal domain - assess the relevance of professional codes of ethics for members of these professions, - analyse, evaluate and draft professional codes of ethics. - organise education in such a way as to develop the values of the learner, - understand the importance of self-worth in a person's life, - to understand the importance of the value of human communication in moral decision-making.
They will understand key ethical concepts and theories - they will be able to define ethics, characterize basic moral principles and trends. Apply ethical principles to professional situations - be able to analyse specific cases and make decisions in accordance with professional ethics. Distinguishes between morality, ethics and social conventions - understands the difference between personal and professional domain rules. Critically evaluate codes of ethics - understands their structure, meaning and can propose own ethical principles. Reflects on own values and attitudes - develops the ability to self-reflect and understands the importance of personal values in education. Masters ethical communication - understands the importance and impact of human communication in moral decision making.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Dialog, Seminar Work

Lectures and seminars are compulsory, tolerated absence is 2hrs. In case of higher absences, the student will agree on the conditions of compensation with the teacher. In case of high absences, the course must be repeated. The learner is obliged to complete the assigned tasks and to study the lecture topics and work in seminars. Failure to complete the assignments and high absences may be grounds for not being admitted to the colloquium and failing the course. If the student is unclear in lectures or seminars, he/she may ask the teacher for consultation. Students with an individual plan: The above requirements apply. + attend at least one class and complete the assignment agreed upon with the teacher at the beginning of the semester.
