The course provides a basic overview of developmental psychology and human development across the lifespan. Attention will be paid to the characteristics and factors influencing human development, the relationship between heredity and environment, and selected theories of development. Individual developmental stages will be introduced. Topics covered: - Introduction to developmental psychology as a scientific discipline and its relevance to practice. - Characteristics and factors influencing human development. Heredity and environment. - Selected theories of human development - Freud, Erikson, Piaget, and others. - Early child development. - Toddlerhood and preschool age. - School age and adolescence. - Adulthood - early, middle, and late adulthood. - Older adulthood.

The aim of the course is to introduce the basic concepts of developmental psychology and major theories of human development (according to S. Freud, E. Erikson, J. Piaget, and others). Attention will be paid to the characteristics of individual developmental periods across the lifespan, with a focus on specific developmental tasks and challenges. In this context, the course will also seek to connect knowledge from developmental psychology with pedagogy and to outline possible approaches to working with individuals at different stages of life.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - explain the basic concepts of developmental psychology and describe the characteristics of human development, - characterize internal and external factors influencing human development, - describe selected theories of human development (particularly those of S. Freud, E. Erikson, and J. Piaget) and identify the areas of human psychological development on which these theories focus, - characterize individual developmental stages across the lifespan and describe their typical features, including developmental tasks and potential challenges and crises, - distinguish the specific needs of individuals at different developmental stages and explain their relevance to the choice of an appropriate educational approach.

Písemný test
Course completion requirements: - attendance at block teaching sessions, - successful completion of a written test with a minimum score of 70%. Students with an Individual Study Plan (ISP): Students are required to study the materials provided in the course study materials and complete the assignment specified there. To complete the course, they are also required to pass the written test with a minimum score of 70%.
