Course content
Main themes: 1. Contents and concepts of culture and cultural heritage, their place and meaning in the education of pupils of different ages (related to spirituality) 2. The relation between Christian cultural heritage and the need to celebrate holidays 3. Roots and the message of Christian holidays - derivation of main ideas for educational programs, content and methods of these programs including demonstrations 4. The relationship between the Christian cultural heritage and the concept of art education 5. Artworks in Christian art, decoration of churches and public places by Christian symbols - use in educational programs, their content and didactic methods including demonstrations 6. Bible and literary works inspired by it - examples, key ideas, content and methods of programs based on this context with demonstrations 7. Common good and values common to all people, examples of personalities, solving social issues, Christian legacy for everyday life - content and methods, demonstrations of programs 8. Methodology for preparation of educational program including practice

Learning outcomes
The goal of this subject is to introduce students into the concept of Arts education, which is part of pedagogical tool set to develop the natural, religious and Christian spirituality of pupils. Student is acquainted with contents and methods of Arts education in relation to the Christian cultural heritage.
Students will get a basic idea of the content of the Christian cultural heritage and the methods by which this heritage can be recognized, revealing the meaning of the individual elements, the link of our ancestors to our lives and developing the individual components of the pupils' spirituality. Students will be able to choose the topic of the educational program, compile its curriculum, choose the appropriate methods and implement it for a selected age group of kindergartens, primary or secondary schools and vocational schools.

There are no prerequisites.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Study of teacher's texts and recommended literature, elaboration and verification of an elaborated program for one lesson. Students with an individual plan: The above requirements apply. + find the implemented program, analyze it and adjust it for the current group where the practice will take place; write a book review (current literature will always be offered to teachers).
