Free time (both in terms of time free from duties and in terms of leisure as a category with a specific social meaning) is an important component of both the personal and social life of an individual. For this reason, the social educator should be equipped with the necessary knowledge of the importance of free and leisure time for the life of individuals from different social, age and other groups, as well as knowledge of the possibilities of approaching free and leisure time in educational practice. Students will gain knowledge from both scientific literature and various sources, including data from qualitative interviews. The course is divided into the following parts: - general introduction to sociology of education - time in social context - multi-meaning concept - empty time and time filled with activity - free time x duty (study, work, other) There is a study support entitled "Sociology of education and leisure time" in the Edis system.
