In the Fall term will be focused on Latin texts from late Antiquity (5th century) till the early Middle Ages (10th century).

Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on reading and analysis of Medieval Latin texts from different genres. The texts are arranged chronologically and thematically in order to give to the students a survey of the development of Medieval Latin prose and to present this prose in its continuity versus European civilisation. The students are lead to make their own interpretation and translation of the texts. The subject may be choosen in combination with Medieval Latin and Latin for Historians.
Ability to read and interprete Medieval Latin prose texts.

Prerequisites
|
Fair knowledge of Latin at the bachelor level - i.e. the level after having finished the propedeutic phase.
