Course content
Upgrading knowledge of advanced Latin grammar and terminology, reading and interpretation of Latin text regarding academic specialization of student, the history of Latin and Latin literature.

Learning outcomes
To reach level of knowledge of Latin enabling student to take its practical use in his/her professional work - translation and interpretation of the Latin text, basic knowledge of the history of Latin and Latin literature. The knowledge will be checked by foreign language (Latin) exam for students doing Doctoral Studies.
In order to pass this exam, the student must have a good command of the foreign language they have chosen to take the exam in (approx. at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), must be able to communicate on topics related to their field of research, and must understand subject-related texts and historical sources.
Prerequisites
Proficiency in the chosen language on the level of basic grammar and ability of interpetation of the simple text.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Ability of independent interpretation of original Latin text and knowledge of Latin terminology related to the academic specialization of student. The basic orientation in the history of Latin and Latin literature.
