Course content
The students will be acquanted with historical background of the Apuleius´ Metamorphoses, further with its structure, style and ideas. There also will be given a survey, how this literary work influenced european renaissance literature and art. In te exercises, selected passages from the romance will be read: 1. The lecture of selected passages of Apuleius´ work. 2. The renaissance commentaries to the Metamorphoses. 3. Apuleius´ work as an inspiration for renaissance prose.

Learning outcomes
The lecture about Apuleius´Metamorphoses strenghtens to make the studens aquainted with this ancient literary work and its further life, especially in the renaissance. During the exercises, the students will read some selected passages from Apuleius´ romance.
A good knowledge of the latin language and some experience in latin lecture: conditional subjects: Latin morphology and syntax.
Prerequisites
A basic orientation in the ancient greek and latin literatures is supposed. A knowledge of Europe´s renaissance literature would be welcomed.

Analysis of linguistic

The course will be closed with a credit, based on the attendance of any student.
