Legal Russian 1 is a one-semester compulsory elective course on a common basis. An advanced knowledge of the Russian language (at least at A2 CEFR level) is assumed, as the course focuses on professional terminology from the beginning. The aim is to introduce the students to the professional language, to familiarize them with terminology in the relevant language area (economic-legal and international issues) and to compare legal Czech with Russian expressions. The basic method is to work with professional texts in various forms with the aim of practically mastering legal language and style from the lexical-grammatical, confrontational and translation points of view.
Students taking this course will gain the knowledge needed to master the subject. In particular, they will gain knowledge concerning the problematics of professional language and become familiar with the terminology of the basic branches of law in the relevant linguistic area. |
