Objectives: The subject falls into the first pillar of the accredited program developing general professional theoretical knowledge of the student. Taking into account the nature of the program, a special emphasis is placed on a high level of the students' knowledge of foreign languages. Students of doctoral study programs must actively work scientifically with foreign sources, and eventually also take part in research internships abroad. The aim of the course is to deepen the student's knowledge of terminology in English. The development of foreign language terminology must be focused directly on the research area of each student, so the course is realized in the form of personal consultations with the teacher, in which the student is required to work with a text in the English language directly related to their research. Emphasis is placed on the correct understanding of foreign language text and the correctness of terminology used by the student.

Assessment methods and criteria |
Student performance
The student meets the teacher in the framework of at least two personal consultations during which the student is obliged to consult the knowledge gained by self-study of publications in a foreign language assigned by the teacher. Full-time students are obliged to attend at least 4 personal consultations with the teacher. The combined form students are obliged to take part in two consultations with the teacher of at least 2 hours. Based on the reading of a professional text, which was chosen by the student already in the winter semester and for which the Glossary was created in the winter semester, elaboration of a review of approximately 90 lines, sending to the teacher and subsequently oral defence of the review. |
