The Academic Writing course introduces the principles of writing academic articles in English. In particular, students will learn the linguistic resources typical for writing academic texts in English, the patterns used for structuring academic texts in an English-language environment, the means of coherence and cohesion of the text, the methods of referencing and the application of various citation standards, as well as ways to avoid plagiarism. By learning how to write and structure a scientific text correctly and how to communicate their knowledge, ideas, arguments and conclusions clearly, students also learn, among other things, to better understand other authors' texts. In the class, students complete partial written assignments.
