The graduate of the discipline will be able to: 1. fully understand the terminology, characterize the system of music pedagogy and understand the position of music pedagogy in the system of musicological disciplines. 2. focus on the most important music pedagogical theories and their representatives? references. 3. assess the endogenous and exogenous effects of intentional and functional music education and distinguish the cognitive and social aspects of musicity. 4. control the position, function and historical context of major music institutions of general, specialized and professional music education. 5. internalize professional skills related to the scientific character of the dissertation. 6. perform an empirical investigation of music pedagogical phenomena, statistically process, evaluate and adequately interpret them. 7. develop a standard research report and formally apply it in an impacted professional periodical. 8. present research results at a professional music pedagogical conference or seminar using IT technologies. Examples of the thematic areas: Methodological area: Music pedagogy in the system of musicology. Formation of music pedagogy as a scientific discipline. Music education as a subject of scientific research. Field taxonomy of music pedagogy, comparison of concepts. Subject, objectives and tasks of music pedagogy. Relationship of music pedagogy, pedagogical, psychological and sociological sciences. Polarity of quantitative and qualitative conception of methods applied in music pedagogical research. Music pedagogy historiographic area. Music pedagogy in synchronic and diachronic conception. Work with source materials. Regional issues focusing on key music pedagogy personalities and music pedagogy institutions. Analysis and evaluation of significant music pedagogy phenomena, significant music education systems in terms of their period attributes and contexts. Analysis and comparison of historical pedagogical documentation and educational materials.
