Course content |
Content of the seminars will be transliteration and transcription of Czech, German and a few Latin texts from 16th until 20th century. Simple texts of diplomatical and codicological character will be discussed in chronological order so it would be possible to follow course Palaeography of Antiquity and Middle Ages 2 and Propedeutics of Early Modern Palaeography 1. Seminars will focus especially on reading of students and should lead to practice of quick identification of script and general identification of given text. It will be improvement of theoretical knowledge and seminars from course Early Modern Palaeography 2.

Learning outcomes |
Aim of the seminars is to deepen knowledge of students in reading of early modern neo-gothic (and partly also humanistic) scripts and to introduce them to the texts from different areas and time periods from 16th until 20th century.
Student is able to identify given text in German, Czech and Latin written between 16th and 20th century and is able to talk about its originator. Student is able to read given text and transliter or transcribe it if needed. |

Completion of course Palaeography of Antiquity and Middle Ages 2 and Propedeutics of Early Modern Palaeography 1. Advantage of general knowledge or simultaneous study of German.

Student performance, Written exam
Attendance at least 90%. Written preparation of seminars in the form of transcription from palaeography reader, Written test (palaeographical transcription of relevant German and Czech text). |
