Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Introduction to the subject, literature and methodology. 2. Theoretical introduction to archive fund, kinds of organization and inventorying. 3. Archive aid - its parts and characteristic of individual parts of opening. 4. Archive aid - creation of inventory register/manipulation list. 5. Methodology of particular archive material. 6. Organizational work of particular archive material (deeds, office books). 7. Organizational work of particular archive material (office books). 8. Organizational work of particular archive material (register aids). 9. Organizational work of particular archive material (record materials). 10. Organizational work of particular archive material (record materials). 11. Organizational work of particular archive material (book material). 12. Organizational work of particular archive material (other material). 13. Completing of written down documents, instruction how to create manipulation list. Seminars will focus on work with particular archive material, its organization and inventarization. Works will take place in groups most often in room at the Department of History and focus will be on particulat fund borrowed from particular institution. So far were organized funds of Roman-catholic parish archives, private funds or parts of register offices.

Learning outcomes
Theoretical introduction together with seminars will provide students with an idea about how the archivist decides when processing particular fund, and will help to learn ways of work when classifying, organizing and inventorying different kinds of archive materials (official books, record and book material). With the application of appropriate methodics students should be able to identify the best possible way of work for particular fund (preservation of original division or implementation of artificial schemes according to appropriate methodic), also to create a manipulation list. Seminars will teach students orientation in archive funds and with help of practical seminar to learn how the materials look after the takeover, how to choose organization system and about the organization as such, about inventarization.
Orientation in terminology and literature, which enables student to find methodology for organization and inventarization of funds. Student is able to divide particular archive material based on categories and to try to describe it within manipulation list.
Prerequisites
No specific prerequisites. Advantage of completion of course Archive studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Final Report

Attendance at least 80%. Credits for active participation during the seminar, written manipulation list.
