Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Introduction to the subject, literature. 2. Territorial development of the Czech lands. King and his position, system of succession. 3. Úděl, castle administration, county system. Colloquys and general assemblies, assemblies of individual lands and counties. Landfrieds. 4. Hussite period. 5. Development of state administration before 1526. 6. Central authorities of the state, 1526-1740. 7. Central authorities of the state, 1740-1848. 8. Administrative development of the Czech Crown lands (Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia), 1526-1618. 9. Administrative development of the Czech Crown lands (Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia), 1618-1740. 10. Administrative development of the Czech Crown lands (Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia), 1740-1848. 11. Land assembly and government of the estates. County administration. 12. Judicial administration. 13. Economical and financial administration.

Learning outcomes
Aim of the course is to introduce individual administrative offices of the Early Modern Period not only in wider context (Verneuerte Landesordnung, Enlightenment reforms), but also preserved documents of those offices in the archives. Attention will be paid to administrative development of central authorities, as to land and regional ones. Students will get familiar also with development of juridical and financial institutions. Basic and the latest literature to the topic.
Orientation in history of administration of central administration on Early Modern Period, overview of central, land and county institutions. Student will get a complex idea about this time period, including knowledge of archives of studies institutions.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of early modern history.
