Course content
Students will become acquainted with history, archaeological research and the contemporary state of many ancient localities. The work in seminars is based on the literature about the history of the particular places, guidebooks, photographs, diapositives and video documents. It will cover the geographical area of today?s Greece, Crete, Turkey, Italy and Sicily with some attention to certain ancient localities in France, Germany, Austria, Spain and Morocco.

Learning outcomes
Students will become acquainted with history, archaeological research and the contemporary state of many ancient localities. The work in seminars is based on the literature about the history of the particular places, guidebooks, photographs, diapositives and video documents. It will cover the geographical area of today?s Greece, Crete, Turkey, Italy and Sicily with some attention to certain ancient localities in France, Germany, Austria, Spain and Morocco.
Deeper knowledge of the history of important ancient localities with the emphasis on topography of the places and their role in the antique period.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Dialog, Seminar Work

Active participation in classes, oral presenting of a paper. Colloquium requires an additional seminary paper and discussion on a set topic.
