Course content
The language instruction is based on the textbook Francouzština pro začátečníky/Le français pour vous (Marie Pravdová, Praha 1999). At the beginning of the semester, the first 12 lessons of the textbook are revised. During the following weeks, next 3 lessons are taught, i.e. lessons 13 to 15. To ensure sufficient and effective practice of the grammar and vocabulary included in these three lessons, the teachers provides other, supplementary exercices. Likewise, supplementary materials are used to further develop students? listening and speaking skills. HF

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The course aims to develop students´ communicative skills in French (speaking, listening). Attention is also paid to gradual build-up of students? vocabulary (of everyday life, especially) and, last but not least, to acquirement of French grammar, with an emphasis put on its practical use. HF
Students broaden their knowledge of French grammar with relative pronouns, direct and indirect personal pronouns, new irregular verbs (dire, ouvrir, voir, écrire, partir, dormir), future tense and first conditional. Their vocabulary and communicative skills are developped especially in the areas of introducing oneself/someone, visiting friends and family, family relations etc. HF
Prerequisites
Students are supposed to have basic knowledge of French, corresponding to the first 12 lessons in the textbook Francouzština pro začátečníky/Le français pour vous. HF

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Didactic Test

Credit requirements: class participation, preparing for every class, doing homeworks, at the end of the semester passing a credit test and hand in writing work. HF
