Course content
The language instruction is based on the textbook Allez hop! 1. At the beginning of the semester, the first 4 lessons of the textbook are revised. During the following weeks, next 2 lessons are taught, i.e. lessons 5 to 6. To ensure sufficient and effective practice of the grammar and vocabulary included in these three lessons, the teachers provides other, supplementary exercices. Likewise, supplementary materials are used to further develop students? listening and speaking skills.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The course aims to develop students´ communicative skills in French (speaking, listening). Attention is also paid to gradual build-up of students? vocabulary (of everyday life, especially) and, last but not least, to acquirement of French grammar, with an emphasis put on its practical use. HF
Students broaden their knowledge of French grammar with relative pronouns, direct and indirect personal pronouns, new irregular verbs (dire, ouvrir, voir, écrire, partir, dormir), future tense and first conditional. Their vocabulary and communicative skills are developped especially in the areas of introducing oneself/someone, visiting friends and family, family relations etc.
Prerequisites
Students are supposed to have basic knowledge of French, corresponding to the first 4 lessons in the textbook Allez hop! 1.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Didactic Test

Requirements for successful completion of the course and obtaining course credit include the continuous and systematic completion of assigned homework, regular attendance of classes, active participation in the course, preparation of a project on a specified topic, and its subsequent presentation. Attendance is a prerequisite for obtaining course credit; a maximum of two absences per semester is permitted. Any additional absences must be discussed with the instructor in advance, with an appropriate form of compensation agreed upon individually.
